Carex flaccosperma, also known as Blue Wood Sedge, is a small clump-forming native sedge that spreads slowly. It has greenish-blue leaves that are typically half an inch wide, and in the late spring, it can produce greenish-white flowers.
It is often found in wetter areas and is tolerant of poorly drained soils as well as most average garden soils; however, it does best with constant moisture. It is relatively drought-resistant once established.
