Helianthus angustifolius, also known as Swamp Sunflower, is a perennial flowering plant native to the southeastern United States, including Arkansas. It is known for its bright yellow flowers that bloom in late summer to fall, adding a cheerful splash of color to wetland gardens and naturalized areas. Swamp sunflower thrives in full sun to partial shade. It prefers moist, well-drained soils but can tolerate wetter conditions, including clay soils. Good drainage is important to prevent root rot.
