Lindera, also known as Spicebush, gets its name from the spicy fragrance that the leaves and stems emit. It is native to moist woodlands and are best grown in part shade but will tolerate full sun with adequate watering.
Spicebush’s bright red fruit ripens from July to October but are most showy when the foliage falls off and the leaves turn a bright yellow.
