It requires at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day to flower prolifically. It prefers well-drained soils that are sandy or loamy. It is tolerant of poor soils and drought once established. Water regularly during the first growing season to establish the plant. Once established, it is drought-tolerant and requires minimal watering.
